A wandering bird's-eye overview of most things even vaguely related to travel, and an opportunity for writers, artists and photographers to contribute the historical, the hysterical, the quirky and quixotic... anything with heart.

Bathtime in Hell's Valley
Bathtime in Hell's Valley

Steaming Japanese pools and ragged cliffs; cold winds, a forest bare; icy mountain paths and a metre of snow.

The most northerly primates in the world - other than homo sapiens - 400 snow monkeys in 3-groups, sharing hot springs in shifts

Yeah Tony, a lucky shot, especially since I'm told monkeys generally avoid direct eye contact

Awesome photo, Ian! The snow monkey is looking right at you with wise eyes that seem to say he’s seen it all! The water is beautiful too.
